
Line Manager Charter
1. Hold a post module discussion after every development event (5 days) and support the completion of the Action Learning Logs (signed and summarised in 6 weeks)
2. Communicate regularly and actively listen to the needs of your IGP Manager throughout the programme
3. Observe and provide feedback when learning is applied in the real world / day job
4. Trust and facilitate the learning process by allowing your IGP manager to stretch their management capability within their role but also through other experiences, projects and initiatives etc
5. Get your IGP manager into the right frame of mind before they attend a development event. Discuss the next modules before they attend and don't apply any pressure that may distract them from the learning experience whilst on the events
6. Respect current abilities and try not to wrap your IGP manager in cotton wool
7. Give them credit for trying new things and recognise effort as much as results when learning new approaches
8. Show an interest in the programme and engage with what they are learning. Use their IGP / Learning experiences as an opportunity to refresh and develop your management skills
9. NO Cant Do Won't Do Land You In The Do Do allowed (that makes us laugh!)
10. Deal with issues and develop / support your manager as you would like to be developed yourself
IGP Delegate Learner Charter
1. Demonstrate Commitment - List what commitment means to you personally
2. Be pro-active in getting support from your Line Manager -Don't just wait for it to happen
3. Fail to prepare then prepare to fail... events... assessments... action learning all count
4. Be a team player on events… your IGP Group on Ning and with your learning Buddies
5. Be clear on your objectives all of the time… have a zero tolerance on ambiguity / confusion. Complete all objectives, learning targets and assessments on time
6. Put the learning into practice and tell others of your success with others on IGP Ning
7. Keep mentally alert, fresh and energised to learn… you can’t run in the 100m Final with a hangover!
8. Keep an open mind and reflect on any feedback. Keep your thoughts in the “Blue zone”
9. Believe in yourself… you are a big investment for the future of Cheshire East. Everyone has immense potential… even those who went to Rhyl High!
10. Learn by your mistakes but don’t beat yourself up… live, learn and work free from worry or guilt.

1. Keep the content relevant to our roles and the organisation
2. Set us clear goals, objectives and outcomes from each of the modules
3. Engage with us – don’t just teach and tell. Listen to our views and involve us in the learning experience and keep things enjoyable and fun to do
4. Provide structure and keep everything organised
5. Make sure learning can be applied and used back in the workplace
6. Keep it all relaxed – challenging but informal
7. Keep the workload reasonable
8. Make sure the venues are set up for learning
9. Be approachable should we need more support
10. Demonstrate the benefits of the programme to us, our managers and the organisation
