Management & Leadership Development

Feeding plants is like fertilizing people through Training and Development.
Fertilizing in order to bring out the best in skills, knowledge, judgement and attitude.
Feed the right stuff – don’t just sprinkle training everywhere – save waste - find out what your plants need and give them the right feed in the right measures at the right time.
Use training needs analysis (TNA’s) to find out what your people really need rather than what they want or what you think they need.
By understanding the Learning Style of your plants you will be able to provide the right type of training, coaching and learning experiences in a way that increases memory retention and their speed to competence.
Also, it is worth considering how your plants can modify some of their preferences for different styles of feed. For example, a plant that only likes to be fed with Baby Bio is going to be less effective in learning compared to a plant that can take the best bits from Nitrogen, Phosphate and Fish-bone too...
...
To find out what specific nutrients your plants need write down the specific skills, knowledge, attitudes that the person would need to deliver in their role or job, the potential future role that you have in mind...
...
For example,
I may need the knowledge of how to plant a bulb before I do it.
I then need the skills to be able to use the tools in order to dig the hole etc and then I will also need the right attitude to make it happen to the best of my ability.
I may also need to demonstrate some sound judgement in planting the bulb at the right time of year in order to achieve a greater success rate… all these factors count.
Create an ideal list that would suggest that the person who delivered on every aspect of your list would be delivering 110% for you.
